I hate to be the bearer of bad news but within the past 3 years of being online, I have learnt that most MLM’s fail.
I have experienced it for myself and also have seen many others fail in this industry.
In this post, I want to discuss why they fail and how to avoid the signs that a business will not last.
If a business is very hyped up and promises loads of money in a very short period of time, please be aware!
All those, “make $33k in 100 days.. guaranteed” or “Best program to hit the net.. get in now!” or “Retire in 25 days or less”.
If it sounds too good, most likely, it is!
So many marketers (including myself) have fallen for these false promises. Why? Because we’re so eager to make money and want to make it fast. However, time and time again, it has been proven to be nothing more than just hype!
We don’t make the money as promised and decide to look for the next best thing.
The pattern then repeats itself over and over again.
Either we don’t make the money as expected or the company goes under before it even really begun.
Let’s be real.. most companies are NOT built to last.
Take a look at the statistics. Most have a lifespan of 5 years or less.
So why do we contine to try and build programs that have been proven time and time again not to work?
I don’t know about you, but I have come to a point in my life where I wanted to build something solid and reliable. Something that has been around for years with an incredible reputation. I also wanted to ensure that those who followed me in my venture would be well trained and had no way of losing money in the even that it didn’t work out for them.
So with that said, I am OFFICIALLY no longer wasting my time on “the next best MLM” or “make 33k in 100 days or less”. I am solely building a business that makes sense, is 100% risk free and can build to a solid 5-6 figure residual income month in and out for 30+ years down the road.
I would love to share with you exactly what I am doing but you must completely comprehend the MLM cycle I’ve outlined above and truly want change for the long run!
I have always said there is zero job security and that everyone needs a Plan B.
It became more apparent today when one of the
salesman at mywork was fired.
It really touched me to see the hurt in his eyes as he got dismissed. I am nearly 90% sure he has no other income to fall back on. Now this is very sad because as we all know, bill payments do not stop. Mortage payments still continue and everyday expenses are always present.
So as I write this blog post, I hope that those reading get this message:
You MUST have a Plan B in place. No matter how confident you may be about your present employement. You just never know what tomorrow holds. You need something solid to fall back on just in case your primary source of income were to fall apart.
Lets face it, you are only a number in your company. Your company holds your destiny in their hands. Isn’t it time to be in control of your own life?
DO NOT think you are 100% safe because no one is!
So let me ask you the following question:
Do you have a SOLID plan B in place?
If you do not, maybe it is time to serious consider one.

Regardless of how perfect your opportunity may seem, you will always encounter negative people, the “naysayers”, the people who will critic every aspect of your business. DO NOT let that get you down!
Let me share how network marketing and a sport like soccer require the same type of drive to succeed.
Have you ever watched how many shots a soccer team takes at the net before a goal is made? Without a doubt, there are far more misses than there are goals. Have you ever looked at a players face when they miss a goal? Yes, there may be disappointment for a minute or two but they always shake it off and keep playing the game.
They realize that the more attempts they take for a goal, the more chances they have at getting the soccer ball in the net.
Many network marketer get discouraged and want to quit when they approach someone about their business and they hear, “No, I’m not interested!”
What they fail to realize is that every no is a step closer to a yes.
Just like the soccer player who realizes that every attempt at the net is another chance to make the goal.
Not everyone will see the same vision that you may. For those that do, great! For those that don’t, great too!! Always remember, some will, some won’t.. so what? NEXT!!
Do not get discouraged if some people do not see the light. You may get many people, one after the other after the other telling you no. You must remain positive and confident in your business and not allow them to steal your dreams with their negativity.
Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to miss. You will succeed. It is just a matter of time, consistency and belief that will get you there!
What is a vision board? A vision board is simply a visual representation or collage of the things that you want to have, be, or do in your life. It usually is a poster of cut out pictures, drawings and/or writing of things you want in your life.
The purpose of a vision board is to activate the law of attraction to begin to pull things from your external environment that will enable you to realize your dream. By putting all your desires on paper in the form of pictures and writing, you are charging your emotion and you will begin to manifest these things in your life.
This is the science behind the law of attraction.
The law of attraction states that we attract into our lives anything that we give attention to, regardless whether it be positive or negative. From a psychological view, the law of attraction can be best explained by the information filtering system of the brain known as the reticular activating system (RAS). Vision boards serve the role of programming the RAS to tune into external stimuli that can help us move closer towards our intentions.
Your vision board is only limited by the extent of your creativity. Theres no “right way” to make it.
The general elements that a well-designed vision board should include are: Emotional. Each picture and or drawing should summon a positive feeling within you. Looking at your vision board should make you happy everytime and fuel your passion to achieve whatever is on it. Visual. Make your board as visual as possible. Your subconscious mind works in pictures and images. Strategic Placement. Your vision board should be placed in a location where it is alway seen for maximum exposure. Your subconscious mind needs to always be reminded of what is present on your board in order to manifest the desires quickly then you hope.
What you’ll need to make it
Foam core board (recommended) or poster board
Old Magazines. (Coloured images)
Glue
Scissors
Compile your pictures by going through the magazine and selecting those that are relevant to your goals. Then you’ll need to sort through them and cut out the ones that impact you the most emotionally. Cut the extraneous material away from the image. You will then arrange your pictures creatively on your board. Remember, your board should resonate with your emotions. Once you are content with the placement, begin to glue. You can also add writing to it as well.
Make sure to update your vision board if needed.
It needs to inspire you always. If at some point something on it doesn’t seem to spark that fire for you anymore, update it with new fresh images that inspire you.
Always remember.. If you can believe it, you can achieve it!

This is a story about 2 lumberjacks. One was named Tom and the other, Steve. One day they got into a competition to see who could cut down a tree the fastest. Tom, being the arrogant type said to Steve, “I can definitely cut down the tree faster then you! You’re so small!” Tom, was tall with big muscles. While Steve was small and skinny. As the competition went on, Tom was hacking away at the tree. He was going as fast as he could. Every time Tom took a quick breather and looked over at Steve, he was taking a break. Tom thought to himself, “I am definitely going to win!”
This process continued for awhile. Tom continued to hack away at his tree and every time he took a quick pause and looked over, he saw Steve taking a break.
Next thing he knew, Tom heard Steve yell out, “TIIIIMMMMBBEEERRRRR!!” And Steve’s tree fell down to the grown. Tom was dumb founded and didn’t understand how in the world Steve just beat him.
So he looked at Steve and said, “Every time I looked at you, you were taking a break. How did you beat me? How did you cut down your tree faster than me?”
Steve replied, “Not only was a taking a break when you looked over, I was also sharpening my axe!”
Because Steve had a sharper axe, he was able to cut down his tree faster!
Many network marketers who get started in this industry do not take the time to sharpen their axe. They come in with a dull axe and/or simply try to “make it” in this industry without focusing on the necessities, the smaller things that will help them succeed. Success comes based on compounding effort! Achievement is not about luck. It’s about strategy.

So, Why Do 3% of Harvard MBAs Make Ten Times as Much as the Other 97% Combined ?
The answer is a simple question:
“Have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?”
In 1979, interviewers asked new graduates from the Harvard’s MBA Program and found that :
- 84% had no specific goals at all
- 13% had goals but they were not committed to paper
- 3% had clear, written goals and plans to accomplish them
10 years later, the 13% of the class who had goals were earning, on average, twice as much as the 84 percent who had no goals at all.
Even more staggering, the 3% that had written goals earned 10 times more than the 97% of their class!!
Coincidence? I think not!
Take the time to write down your goals. If they’re not written down, they are just dreams. When you write things down, it sets off a chain of events that will change your life. I am a firm believer of writing.
Don’t have the time to write them down?
If you don’t have time to write down your goals, where are you going to find the time to accomplish them? Food for thought
I say “consider” because I realize affiliate marketing may not be for everyone.
For the many marketers who soley promote network marketing and MLM opportunities you may want to consider implementing affiliate products. Here’s why:
* No mass downline building necessary.
* It presents you with a great opportunity to increase revenue.
*If you currently have a blog or website with consistent traffic you can capitalizing on traffic you already have. Every time someone browses through your site or blog and makes a purchase on your merchant’s site, you earn a commission!
* Affiliate Marketing programs are free to join! Check out www.Clickbank.com for more details.
However, even if you have no intentions of becoming an affiliate marketer you may want to consider using affiliates to promote your own business. Using affiliates is an excellent idea and inexpensive way to promote ANY business. (online or offline)
It’s estimated that in the last year, $95 billion was transacted online as a direct result of affiliate marketing. And those affiliates earned over $6.5 billion in commissions.
